A Place to Belong, Grow & Look Forward

Hello

At Eagles Nest Children’s Homes, we believe every child deserves a safe and nurturing place where they feel valued, understood and able to be themselves.

We provide residential care built around the individual child. We recognise that every child has their own experiences, strengths, needs, wishes and aspirations, and that meaningful progress begins with taking the time to understand who they are.

Our aim is to create homes where children experience stability, consistency and positive relationships, while receiving the individualised care and support they need to develop confidence, resilience and greater independence.

Eagles Nest Children’s Homes is operated by Seven Steps Healthcare Ltd. Our current home in Birstall, Leicester is registered with Ofsted as a children’s home.

Our Brand

Our Purpose

Our purpose is simple. We want children living within our homes to feel safe, cared for and hopeful about their future.

We provide a home environment where children are supported to develop emotionally, socially and practically, while being encouraged to participate in education, enjoy meaningful experiences, maintain important relationships and make age-appropriate choices about their lives.

We recognise that positive outcomes do not happen overnight. They are built through consistency, trust and relationships. Our staff therefore focus on creating an environment where children know what to expect, feel able to talk openly and are supported through both achievements and challenges.

Care is responsive to each child’s individual needs and is reviewed as those needs and circumstances change.

Our Philosophy

Children at the Heart of Everything We Do

Children are not simply recipients of care at Eagles Nest. We encourage them to take an active role in their lives, their care and the home in which they live.

We listen to children’s wishes and feelings and provide different opportunities for them to express themselves. This includes everyday conversations, Key Worker sessions, children’s meetings and involvement in their care planning.

Children are encouraged to make choices, contribute ideas and develop a sense of ownership and belonging within their home. This can include choosing activities, contributing ideas about their bedrooms and shared spaces and discussing the short and long-term goals that are important to them.

Where a child requires additional support to express their views or raise a concern, we support access to independent advocacy.

Our Values

Safety

Children need to feel safe before they can flourish. We create structured, supportive environments where safeguarding, consistency and respectful relationships underpin everyday life.

Respect

Every child is an individual. We respect their identity, experiences, culture, religion, wishes, feelings and personal circumstances, and provide care without discrimination.

Belonging

A children’s home should feel like a home. We want children to experience warmth, inclusion and a genuine sense that they belong rather than feeling that they simply live within a service.

Opportunity

Every child should have opportunities to discover what they can achieve. We encourage education, hobbies, recreation, new experiences, community participation and the development of individual talents and interests.

Progress

Progress looks different for every child. We recognise and celebrate individual achievements, whether that means improved school attendance, greater confidence, learning a new skill, developing healthier relationships or becoming more independent.

Consistency

Children need to know that the adults around them are dependable. We provide consistent care, clear expectations and reliable relationships, helping children feel secure, build trust and understand what they can expect from the people supporting them.

A Home That Reflects Each Child

Celebrating Identity & Individuality

We want children to feel comfortable expressing who they are.

Our staff take time to understand each child’s cultural, linguistic, religious and individual needs and preferences. We support children to maintain important aspects of their identity, participate in cultural and religious activities where they wish to do so and remain connected with people and communities that matter to them where this is appropriate.

We also encourage children to learn about and respect the identities, cultures and experiences of others, helping to create an inclusive home in which difference is understood and valued.

Building Positive Relationships

Relationships Make the Difference

We believe positive, consistent relationships are at the heart of good residential care.

Our staff take time to get to know each child, understand their experiences and recognise the different ways in which children may communicate how they are feeling.

We encourage relationships built on trust, respect, patience and clear boundaries. Children are supported to develop healthy relationships with staff and peers and, in accordance with their individual care plans, to maintain meaningful relationships with family members, friends and other significant people in their lives.

Working Together

Working in Partnership

Children achieve the best outcomes when the people around them work together.

We work collaboratively with placing authorities, social workers, education providers, health professionals and other relevant agencies to support each child’s care, education, health, wellbeing and safeguarding.

Families and other significant people are involved where appropriate and in accordance with the child’s care plan.

Through regular communication, review and shared planning, we aim to ensure that everyone involved understands the child’s needs, progress and changing circumstances and can work towards agreed outcomes together.

Our Team

Caring, Skilled and Consistent People

The quality of a children’s home depends greatly on the people providing the care.

Our team is recruited using safer recruitment practices and receives induction, training, supervision and ongoing development appropriate to their role.

We expect our staff to be positive role models who listen to children, recognise achievements, communicate respectfully and provide consistent support and boundaries.

Our management team maintains oversight of the home and supports staff to develop their knowledge, confidence and practice so that children receive safe and effective care.
